We at Dynamics Consultants would like to say a special thank you to everyone who came to our Business Software Showcase. We hope that you all had a fantastic and informative day - the feedback so far has been really positive!

For those of you who were unable to make it, we put together a day of workshops to find out about the latest technologies to help you with running your business. We also had a buffet breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea to make sure our guests were well fed and watered, offering a great opportunity to network with other companies.

Networking

With a mixture of existing customers, representatives from Microsoft, a range of our partners and people who are new to the products, this was a great opportunity to network and gain a great deal of insight. Many of our existing customers went home with a new shopping list, and many businesses gained a lot from finding out how other companies do things.

We were extremely lucky to have Andrea from Microsoft give us a presentation. She spoke to us about the Internet of Things (IOT) and explained the concept of how the network of items with embedded electronics and network connectivity enables companies to collect and exchange data like never before. These business insights are helping businesses provide better and more complete service from a truly informed standpoint.

What's New in Dynamics NAV 2016?

For those of you who already use Dynammics NAV, or have been looking at NAV for a little while, the latest updates have been really exciting!

Finance improvements including posting previews and deferrals show that Microsoft are continuing to develop new features for the core areas of NAV, not just the shiny peripheral tools.

New approvals functionality via workflows allow you to set up templates based on events, conditions and responses.

PowerBI on Office 365 now has a content pack for Dynamics NAV which is constantly being updated to provide you with Business Intelligence dashboards for your data.

The in-built CRM functionality in Dynamics NAV has now been moved to the starter pack, so more of you can now enjoy the useful tools such as segmentation and marketing campaigns in your NAV package. But if you need more, Dynamics NAV now integrates with Dynamics CRM.

And how do you see all of this information? Now you can use the desktop client, web client, tablet client and an all new mobile phone client!

NAV Client Configuration

For the more experienced NAV users amongst you, Miruna gave a fantastic presentation on configuring NAV, including user profiles and role centres. Dynamics NAV is designed to allow you to get to the information that you need as and when you need it.

This informative workshop showed how users can change what information is displayed, both from a super user and individual user perspective.

What are Add-Ons?

Miruna has been heavily involved with the development of our own Add-Ons and was well placed to explain how add-ons provide a way for NAV partners to provide repeatable low cost solutions to their customers. Power BI

We were all impressed with Tanya's excellent presentation on Power BI, the Office 365 Business Intelligence solution. Fully interactive and easy to connect with your data, Power BI is a tool that can give you some amazing insights into your business operations.

Showing us how we can easily select from a range of charts and reporting tools, these visual aids will update with your system to give you the latest performance indicators.
