What’s New in Business Central 2025 Release Wave 2
The Autumn brings the second major release of the year for Business Central, as part of the 2 wave annual update cycle. Here we look at the highlight features.
Trimline has recently won a share of a £350m MoD contract to cover the long-term maintenance of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Flotilla of naval support ships. Made up of fuel tankers, stores ships, a medical facility and landing ships, the RFA provides essential support such as food, fuel, munitions and other vital supplies to the Royal Navy at sea.
Four years ago Trimline was awarded a contract worth tens of millions of pounds to refurbish RFA ships for up to five years. The company hired 20 new staff, a 40 per cent growth in its workforce, on the strength of the deal. Dynamics Consultants were contracted to upgrade their Dynamics NAV accounting and project management system to the latest version to support Trimline’s continuing growth.
Following the Dynamics NAV upgrade, Dynamics Consultants integrated the system with Microsoft SharePoint to provide better visibility over Trimline’s operations and deliver a wider set of tools to boost efficiency. The integration has provided quick and easy visibility over all projects and created a centralised working area for Trimline’s employees.
Project management has been improved with role specific dashboards, integrated workflows and easily available project statistics. The end result is a more robust project management system, leading to improved project completion and an empowered, better informed workforce.
Gary Oliver, Trimline Managing Director said ‘We are delighted with the news, we’ve already been working with the MoD and have done over £20m of business because of them, it’s meant we’ve been able to invest back into the business. We’ve created over 20 jobs and started up a new management training programme for graduates.’

As real-time data insight, automation and scalability are now necessities and not luxuries, your ERP upgrade decision is more important than ever.
