What’s New in Business Central 2025 Release Wave 2
The Autumn brings the second major release of the year for Business Central, as part of the 2 wave annual update cycle. Here we look at the highlight features.
This month I traveled with our MD, Tom Jenkins, to the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Expo in Farnborough. I have exhibited at the show for many years, both at Dynamics Consultants and in previous roles, and Tom has a wide range of contacts in the industry. As such, this is an ideal place for DC as a knowledge hub for the manufacturing industry in the south coast to get a feel for the current climate.
An Expert Opinion
I interviewed Tom about the exhibition, about what we looked to achieve from visiting and the feeling in the current climate, with the approaching Brexit deadline giving mixed reactions in our Manufacturing Matters interviews.
We also went to the expo to look for solutions that would be useful to our customers, but also managed to find a number of people that could do with our help!
The new venue is fantastic, with the new building being a big step up from the large marquee that it had been in previously. It was still cold, but with plenty of coffee stalls the solid walls at least kept the winter wind and rain out! Speaking to a few businesses that I know do a lot of exhibitions, there were a lot of quiet periods – indeed it felt quite empty for the afternoon that we were there – however there were periods that were busy and made the show worthwhile. I wonder if the show went back to the original two day format it would improve or make things worse.
We look forward to either visiting or exhibiting next year!

After a recent visit to the Digital Manufacturing 2day event in Coventry and an insightful presentation by Lord Chris Holmes, I thought I would delve a bit deeper into the current AI regulation facing UK industry.
Choosing the right ERP system when moving on from Sage 50 can shape how efficiently your business grows and adapts. If you want advanced features, greater flexibility and easier integration with familiar Microsoft tools, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is often the stronger option compared to Sage 200. As real-time data insight, automation and scalability are now necessities and not luxuries, your ERP upgrade decision is more important than ever.
