What is AdWords?

AdWords is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Google and its advertising network. The AdWordsprogram enables businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The ad service is largely focused on keywords. It was initially released in 2000 and as technology developed, this service became increasingly popular. 

AdWords places your website to the top of the search page with an 'Ad' symbol to notify you that this is an Ad. You have only have to pay Google when a link of yours is clicked on, so this can be considered as a cheap way of advertising your business.
