Our Junior Web Developer comes 1st in National Heat for Web Design for World Skills UK.
Ed Leeman (aged 17), who's been with Dynamics Consultants for 5 months now as a junior web developer, came 1st place in the regional heats in the Web Design category with World Skills UK.
Here, Ed explains what he had to do to win the regional heats:
“We were asked to build a website for a photographer. We were given a brief from the company which included everything they wanted from the website. The site had to include:
Being responsive,
Coded in HTML5 and css3,
Have a fully functional JQuery slider,
5 unique pages (about us, prices, contact, gallery and home)
A contact form with fully working JavaScript validation.
a ‘To top’ button that allows users to get to the top of the page using a button.
We didn’t have access to the internet and the site had to be fully hand coded in 4 hours. As well as having a fully working website, we also had to design 2 wireframes for separate pages on the site and a site map.”
Ed now proceeds to the WorldSkills UK Final at The Skills Show, NEC Birmingham. He will be testing himself against some of the UK’s most highly skilled individuals to see who will be crowned the ‘best of the best’.
We are extremely proud of Ed and wish him all the best for Birmingham. We’re sure with the training he is receiving from his college and also from our own experienced web development team we will see him do well!
World Skills UK works in partnership with the Find a Future organisation, providing every young person the chance to unlock their potential and get excited about the world of work.
