You just produced a professional website, it’s visually attractive and the content is of a high standard, but is the navigation on point? Is the ‘Buy Now’ Button visible when looking at a product? These are all good questions that you need to think about. If a consumer visits your website and they can’t navigate properly, or they don’t know how to purchase a product then this will lead to them abandoning the site and you will miss an opportunity of making a sale.
I’ve mentioned navigation in previous blogs, but it is really important! Users are more likely to abandon your site if they get lost or can’t find what they want in a short amount of time. Without navigation, your website can appear unstructured and unorganised, so if you have good navigation then it will be easier to manage it. A well thought through website navigation works well with SEO, in that it enables the Search Engine Spiders to properly crawl sites and index them. It will also improve website usability; meaning that if your website is not accessible by a link, it will not be found by search engines.
