What’s New in Business Central 2025 Release Wave 2
The Autumn brings the second major release of the year for Business Central, as part of the 2 wave annual update cycle. Here we look at the highlight features.
Business Central is not a product that was released and forgotten. In fact, since it was called Navision, or Dynamics NAV, Microsoft have invested heavily on updates for the product, giving it better features and making it continually more secure. Dynamics Consultants have been helping to add to those improvements to give the customers what they want and need.
Microsoft’s flagship Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for Small and Medium sized Businesses (SMB) is Business Central, part of the Dynamics® Family of products. As a core part of Microsoft’s business offering, the product has had huge amounts of investment from the point that Microsoft bought it as it’s predecessor, Navision, rebranding the product as Dynamics NAV an later to Business Central. Through modernisation, new features and continual development, Business Central has become one of the most advanced ERP solutions ever to be available.
Since the focus changed to the SaaS based model, Microsoft have been taking suggestions to improve the product through the Dynamics 365 Ideas platform. As a partner that deals with hundreds of customer requirements, we get a good understanding of what is required and now have a large number of suggestions that have actually found their way into the product.
Microsoft’s ethos is to work with partners, as the people on the ground implementing the systems. This means that it’s the partner’s job to really understand the customer requirements. This puts Business Central Partners in the perfect position to know where there are gaps in functionality, or areas that can be improved.
As Business Central Partners, Dynamics Consultants work with end customers on a daily basis and really understand market requirements. As such, we have submitted a wide range of suggestions, many of which have been published to the Business Central solution.
