A warehouse management system, or WMS, is a software package that supports the day-to-day operations of a company’s warehouse. This can include stock control to handling shipments, picking, courier management and a wide range of other functionality. The aim is to improve visibility for managers and reduce the possibility for mistakes by staff with movement of materials around the warehouse.
If you are new to the concept, you may be asking “how can a warehouse management system actually help me?” Whether you have a simple and small warehouse or a complex system of warehouses at various locations, you can find a warehouse management system that suits the level of complexity of your business:
As well as fully managing the warehouse activities, having a fully integrated system known as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software package can help improve efficiency and reduce time and errors. Picking lists can be pulled through from sales orders, and the Finance team can carry out a stock evaluation with a press of a button, without spending hours doing a stock take. Although there are some dedicated solutions on the market purely for the purpose of WMS, a good quality ERP package should have all the tools that a standalone product covers, with the added benefit of being an integrated system.
With Microsoft Dynamics NAV at the core of our solution, we utilise some of the best tools on the market, such as Tasklet Factory mobile warehouse, as well as our own developed solutions such as Courier Integration.

As real-time data insight, automation and scalability are now necessities and not luxuries, your ERP upgrade decision is more important than ever.
