Microsoft Office 365 Updates for July 2017

One of the benefits of Office 365 is the continual updates that they are providing in functionality, be it user experience or administration tools. See the video with Jim Naroski, which covers the following areas: 

Microsoft Planner

  • Simple visual way to organise teamwork
  • Mobile apps for Android and iOS
  • Coming soon will be:
    • Push notifications
    • New plans creation
    • Intune integration

Outlook for iOS and Android

  • Add and edit contacts on Outlook for iOS coming to Android
  • Contact card redesigned to be easier to use
  • Contact card shows recent and future interactions

Outlook for Mac Updates

  • Send Later feature added
  • Delivery and read receipts

Microsoft Forms

  • Available in preview for commercial customers
  • Integration with other applications

Visio and PowerBI

  • New Visio visualisation in Power BI preview

Microsoft Stream

  • Microsoft steam now has worldwide availability
  • Speech is automatically transcribed
  • Facial detection
  • Integrated with Office 365 groups

Security and Compliance

  • Threat detection status reports
  • Enhanced quarantine capabilities
  • NEW ATP safe links policy
    • Per-tenant block list
    • Split Safe Links policies
    • Expanded character limit for URLs
