The Autumn brings the second major release of the year for Business Central, as part of the 2 wave annual update cycle.

As with previous updates, a lot of the new features are centred around Copilot AI capabilities and Carbon Footprint recording;  In fact, we even have AI tools for carbon footprint recording. There are a huge number of updates with hours of footage. In this blog we will look at the most exciting updates in this release. Autofill contact details with Copilot

If you spend a lot of time typing information into Business Central? Copilot now suggests appropriate field values and even searches the web. 

Chat with Copilot

No longer get stuck with finding the information you need in Business Central. Natural language and Copilot allows you to ask what it is you are trying to achieve. This now also includes add-on apps, giving a full experience.

Payables agent update

Learn about the Payables Agent and how it assists AP teams in delivering high-quality data for business decision-making in their organizations. In this session we'll cover the vision of the Payables Agent, what's new in the major release, and discuss what's on the roadmap in the near future. What’s New Power BI for projects and inventory

Track progress, surface actionable insights, and keep projects on budget, boosting delivery confidence and margin control with enhanced Power BI apps for projects and inventory. The updated Inventory Power BI app helps you forecast inventory flow and act early- reducing stockouts, missed sales, and customer churn.​ ​

Sustainability Copilot

Discover how Copilot for Sustainability can support your carbon accounting even when emission factors are missing. Learn how Copilot calculates total carbon footprint from inbound data in the sustainability journal and intelligently suggests emission factors for future use.

Track your energy consumption

Discover how to monitor your energy usage using Sustainability Journals, and enrich your data for enhanced sustainability reporting. This feature improves transparency, enhances ESG compliance, and streamlines energy tracking and reporting.

Shopify

Point of sale

Shopify POS (Point of Sale) lets you process transactions and accept payments in person. Shopify POS connects to Shopify back office as a sales channel to ensure that inventory, payments, and customer data fully synchronizes while you make sales from your retail store. Shopify Connector imports orders created through Shopify POS in the same way as orders you create through other channels, such as Online store.

Shopify B2B companies and company locations

Import or export companies between Shopify and Business Central, including payment terms, buyer lists, and multiple locations. Export customers from Business Central as B2B company locations in Shopify. Learn how to use the Sell-to Customer and Bill-to Customer fields on the company location level to get more flexibility and convenience for managing customer information across both applications.

E-Documents

E-Documents and E-Shipments

Learn how to leverage new document types in E-Documents to create electronic shipments and electronic transfer shipments. This functionality addresses emerging regulatory requirements in several countries where electronic documentation of goods movement is becoming mandatory.

See Copilot Studio agents in action—create personalized, context-aware agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot with just a few words! In this demo, discover how Copilot Studio makes it "easy" for anyone to build agents that reflect their unique work context—no coding required.
