DC100 Inventory Essentials Training
From the course “DC080 – Sales and Purchase Order training” we have established the basics for trade, either as a supplier or a customer. But Business Central can do more than just order things and manage finances. Join us for this basics course to Inventory, where we will show you that with a bit of setup, you will be able to control various inventory management tasks.
This course covers content on Item Reservations, which is an invaluable tool that allows you to allocate existing or future stock to a specific sales order. This makes sure that the order can be shipped on the planned shipment date, and keep the customer happy. Similarly we will look at Item Substitutions, so should there be a stock shortage you can still meet the customer’s needs with inventory items of comparable quality, function and price. We will also look at Item Cross References, which is extremely handy for customer item references or if you use barcode scanning.
Finally, we will delve into the world of Assembly Management. You may bring items together into a gift set or kit, or alternatively create finished goods by combining raw materials in a process that doesn’t require manufacturing functionality. We will see how to set up a bill of materials (BOM) for assembly, and look at reservations and item tracking for assembly items. We will look at how to sell Assemble to Order items and Inventory items together, and how to manage shipments of Assemble to Order Items.
