Junior .Net Developer
We’re looking to offer an enthusiastic Junior .NET Developer the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills working across the full web stack. You’ll never be in a position where you’ll be doing the same thing as you’ll constantly be working on different products and projects.
You’ll be working in a small development team that primarily focuses on web technologies, but you’ll regularly be conversing with both internal and external customers, so you’ll need to be able to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical parties. Timescales can on occasion, be tight and you may be working on more than one task at a time, therefore, you’ll also need to be able to balance your workload, organise your priorities and work to deadlines. As the junior role is all about developing you and your skills, you’ll also be willing and open to learning new skills and technologies.
Long term, we’ll be looking to extend your C# .Net knowledge and skills offering you the opportunity to hone your skills using SOLID principles and Test Driven development. You’ll also become experienced in managing and developing for Azure Cloud, including RESTful Web APIs, Web Apps, Azure SQL Databases and Virtual Machines. You’ll also get to work with Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server and SharePoint, there’s plenty to learn and plenty of variety to keep you on your toes.
The position is office based, however, on occasion there may be a requirement to travel to customers’ sites.
Ideally, liking problem solving and being of an inquisitive nature – the successful applicant will like to dig beneath the surface to understand how things work. In return, the candidate will get hands on experience working with Azure and the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects and products from inception through to delivery using different approaches and technologies. Alongside this, the successful applicant would also be required to undertake relevant training ensuring that their skills remain up to date and current.
The successful candidate should have at least 1 year’s development experience and be technically proficient in:
- SQL At the very least, you’d need to be competent in writing SQL queries, but knowledge of T-SQL and experience of SQL Server would be a bonus
- Object Oriented Design and Development
- Ideally, some experience developing with C# but at the very least, you’ll need to understand the concepts of OO design and development
- C# and .NET Framework
- ASP.NET would be great
- MVC would be even better
