Using the Power BI Feature in SharePoint Online
Setting up a report in your SharePoint page couldn’t be any easier:
- Get the URL to your published report
- Add the out-of-the-box web part to the SharePoint Page
- Paste the report URL
- Save and publish the page
As part of the integrated “single sign-in” ethos of Office 365, security on viewing reports is the same as is set within PowerBI, so only people with permissions and licences can see the reports. The web part requires a Power BI Pro licence to view it.
Availability – First Release
The web parts are currently available for people in the First Release program. This means, like permissions and licences, only users on the First Release program will be able to view them. As yet there are not release dates that we can find regarding general release, however keep an eye on our blog to get regular updates. It is also worth noting that this is currently only available for SharePoint Online and not on premise versions.
